Have you missed me?

Haven't blogged updated by blog in some time. Maybe 6 months. Hoping to do so very soon. The kiddies are been keeping me very busy and tired. Baby #2 is almost a full year and Baby #1 is well...not so much baby anymore but a mini human. At some point I will have to change how I reference them here. As for their eating habits....uhhh...it is so odd that they have such differing appetites. So very strange - they are not even 2 years apart and yet baby2 doesn't have an appetite close to what baby1 had.

I know some of my trusty blog readers have come to see me here once in awhile. I thank you all for having visited me while I've been away. Your patronage is most appreciated. Do not fret, I have sporatically been photographing my on-going food experiences.

A few blog entries are sitting in my post log just waiting to be completed and published. I just never got to them. The time just ran out between feedings-cleaning up-diaper changes-feedings-cleaning up-diaper changes-keeeping babies company-well needed relaxation time of just plain vegging.

I may have to rethink my posting formats join in the blogging community again. Short yet simple and still oh so yummy.

(Here is just a small glimpse of the entries I may still come to post.)

Welcome to my 1st post.

My whole existence as of late has been dedicated to "the babies" (baby1 & baby2). Diapers, diapers, diapers ... YUCK! What to feed baby1? What will baby1 eat? Is this healthy for baby1? What to feed baby2? ...well that's easy, milk, milk and more milk... Although baby2 wants the drinky drink oh so frequently.

I used to have more time for all things selfish. Basically, ME time. A few moments of my most favourite thing in the world, food is now reduced to only moments of guilty pleasure. No longer can I produce meals that require a lot of prep time. What about dining out? "Are you kidding me!?!?!" Being fed by professionals are a rarity. Devising plans on how to best handle the babies while out in a restaurant have become our new sport. The key factor in the success of a restaurant visit is, is there enough space in the restaurant for the babies? A high chair for one and the stroller for the other.

The new reality:

  • fast easy to prep home meals, also edible by baby1 (less than 2 yrs old)
  • love delivery
  • fine dining? used to be a treat, now? non-existent
  • success to resto dining: 1 high chair, enough space to fit a stroller to not be a big nuisance
  • the myriad of ethnic variety here in the city that we used to enjoy? most are in small spaces, so...it's a no go.
  • all the great cheap eats in the city? see the immediate above
  • chain restos? have high chairs, roomy BUT we rarely dine in them

Here is my food life...
